How to fence in pets in Island Experiment

The pets can be very useful when you have collections, but they DO tend to get in your way sometimes. Many people choose to pen them up around their spawn point so that they are not always in the way as you go to click on your fields and plants. It's quite easy:

Step 1: Refresh your game and make a mental note of where they spawn on the beach, just to the right of the delivery hut. All of them except Fluffy the rabbit spawn in exactly the same spot every single time.

Step 2: Surround that general area with any combination of plants, buildings and/or decorations. If you choose to use fences from the various side shops, you will probably also need to place small plants in some of the corners and joints because the fence pieces do not "lock" together and will leave small spaces through which the animals can escape.

Step 3: Refresh your game once again and watch the pets for a few minutes to see if any escape. If they do, place a small item in that spot and refresh again to see if the will stay or not.

And that's all there is to it! Please note that Fluffy does not spawn in the same spot and cannot be penned with a small pen. You can pen it up if you're willing to enclose the entire space from the stone door, downward.  However, having one running around if you don't make a big pen is better than many running around all the time.

NOTE:  Don't bother putting a pen on your decoration island - they will spawn in one spot for a few days, then it will suddenly shift and they will spawn in a completely different place for a while, and it just moves around a lot. They also do not spawn in a tight group like they do on the main island.

Here are some example pens, to give you ideas:
