Where do I get gears to upgrade the warehouse in Island Experiment?

After the first few upgrades on the warehouse, it will start needing gears to upgrade, as well as coins. It's a long, slow process to gather enough to make upgrades to the warehouse, and it gets longer as time goes on. Your main source of gears will be the fallen satellite; if you have not reached it yet, keep working the quests and you will uncover it very soon.

You get one gear per 24 hours from the fallen satellite, and one every 5 days from the daily bonus. (More from the daily bonus if you have VIP status.) There is one chest later in the game that has a couple in it, and some of the "real money" offers of various buildings and statues sometimes include a batch of gears as a one-time bonus with purchase.

The wooden houses also take one gear to upgrade from level 3 to level 4, and the research station takes one to get to level 3 and one to get to level 4. Some players prefer to leave those upgrades alone and use their gears only on their warehouse, at least until the warehouse is level 25. (Level 25 warehouse earns you the panda pet.) Other players prefer to go ahead and spend those gears and get the higher coin payout from the station and the houses. There is no "better" way to do it... it's up to you.

The following picture shows you where the fallen satellite is. Please note that many items will not match your own island because my items have been moved around. For reference's sake, I've included notes of where the beach and the bridge are at, since those are things that can't move.

Later in the game, there will be a chest that contains two gears... this chest has no key, it will have to be opened with gems if you want them. Click on the chest and it will show you the contents, don't just open every chest you see.

Two other potential sources of gears are the Cave of Plenty and the Wheel of Fortune. Both of these are offered to players as special offers in rotation on the right side of the game screen. These both cost REAL money, and in both of them, gears are RARE and random. If you want to spend your money on them fine, but be aware that gears are only one of several potential rewards from those buildings, and you will not get very many gears from them.
