What are pets for in Island Experiment?

As you play through the game, you will find yourself collecting pets. Each individual pet does not do anything by itself, but each collection of three gives you permanent bonuses. To learn how to earn each pet, click on the paw print icon in the lower left:



Then grab the icons at the top and scroll through the various collections. The bonuses you get for that collection are listed down the right side. To learn how to earn each specific animal, click the picture of it and a new window will pop up and tell you.





There are 3 types of pets: ones that can be earned just by playing the main island game, ones that are earned in the non-repeatable 15 day events, and ones that can be earned on the arch islands.  There is also one pet that can currently only be purchased with real money.

Pets that can be earned on the main island are: Raccoon, Bear Cub, Fox Cub, Kitty, Fluffy (bunny), Panda, Red Panda, Panther, Monkey, Hippo and Quokka.

Pets that can be earned on the arches are: Sheep, Parrot, Turtle, Tiger, Koala, Lumsic, Rhino and Lion Cub. Currently the rhino and lion cub are not part of a collection. (But should be in the future.)

Pets that were previously earned in 15 day events are: Owl, Husky, Chipmunk, Chicken, Elephant, Fennec Fox, Little Dragon, Dinosaur, Little Octopus, Penguin, Bat, Lemur, Reindeer, Chameleon, Pig and Corgi. Currently the corgi is not in a collection. 15 day events are not repeatable, but the game makers do plan to give people second chances at them in future, unnamed events. (Previously we were able to win them in Festivals of Deliveries but they changed those and took out the pets as prizes.)

Currently the Shar-Pei can ONLY be purchased with real money. We hope that will change in the future and that there will be some way to earn him. However, since the quokka from that collection will take many months to earn, there is no rush to buy the shar pei instead of waiting patiently.

During Valentine's Day of 2017, there was a pink Hippo available for purchase with real money. It is not in a collection, either, and has not been offered for sale since then.

Please note that all other pets besides the shar-pei that can be purchased with real money can also be earned just by being patient and playing the game.
